This comprehensive book provides a survey of the work of the Estonian artists who fled Estonia as refugees during World War II and continued their work abroad, and is a collaboration between the Art Museum of Estonia and the Tartu Art Museum. The book summarises the results of a long-term and thorough research project designed to collect and map the oeuvre of Estonian artists in exile. Within the framework of the research project, large survey exhibitions of the same name were organised in 2010 and 2011 at the Kumu Art Museum and Tartu Art Museum.
